With Jade Tu making ten kills, College of San Mateo's new women's volleyball team continued its early season unbeaten string Wednesday, defeating district rival Skyline College 25-22, 25-12, 25-17 in the opening match of the College of San Mateo Classic. It was the first home contest for the young Bulldogs, who also took the closer against Los Medanos in straight sets (25-13. 25-21, 25-22).

CSM advanced to 4-0 on the season and still has "never" lost a set (12-0)!

Also against Skyline, Samantha Johnson had 24 assists and 12 digs while Alexandra Legaspi had 21 digs.

In the other match, Los Medanos defeated Skyline, 3-1. CSM "won" its own classic, 2-0, followed by Los Medanos (1-1), and Skyline (0-3).

The Bulldogs will get their toughest test on Friday when they play defending Coast South champion Foothill in the opener of the 16-team San Joaquin Delta tournament. They are in the same bracket with tough host Delta and Reedley.

Foothill chased Coast North champion Cabrillo to the state championships last season, losing a rubber match to eventual state champ Cabrillo. That made the Coast the toughest conference in 2015. CSM debuts in the Coast North next month.
