Haley Walker went 3-for-3 as the West Valley Vikings scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull away from Porterville by a score of 10-5.
West Valley jumped out to a 5-0 lead only to see Porterville tie it up with five runs in the top of the fourth capped by an RBI single by catcher Taylor Maddox.
West Valley regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning with a base hit by Malia Pula to score Ashley Boerner. Haley Walker hit a sacrifice fly to score Pula to extend the lead to 7-5. Freshman second baseman Lindsey Atherton doubled in a run and stole home to cap off the five run rally.
Ava Gonzales (1-1) picked up her first career win at West Valley by going four innings. Reina Maldonado pitched a scoreless three innings to close out the game and pick up the save.
