Team Stats
Fresno City College's (28-3, 13-0) softball team came back from the brink of defeat with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning against Porterville (3-9, 9-17). The 4-3 victory gave the Rams a school-record 20 wins in a row.
The Pirates had forged a 3-0 lead with one run in the fourth and two in the fifth inning. Then, the Rams reached deep like they did on Tuesday coming back from a 5-2 deficit against Merced to win 6-5. The Rams had won the first game of today's double header 8-0 in five innings.
FCC was ranked No. 2 in Northern California and No. 3 in the state in the most recent CCCAA rankings.
Twice in Rhonda Williams career the Rams won 44 games in a season, but those teams never strung together such a winning streak.
Next game for FCC is at West Hills on Tuesday, April 12, at 2 p.m.
