Cabrillo Stays Perfect In Conference With Win Over Hartnell

The Lady Seahawks stayed perfect in conference with a 7-6 win over visiting Hartnell College (Salinas). Starting pitcher Michelle Firebaugh (9-3) allowed four earned runs and struck out six with one walk in 6 1/3 innings of work to get the win. With the tying run on second base, Daniele Whitesell got the save pitching the final two outs of the game.
Firebaugh was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Kristina Mio went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs. Jamie Sugimoto was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI's and two runs while Marissa Bugayong was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a double. Next up, the Seahawks (16-4, 5-0 ) will host a doubleheader Saturday against Merced with the first game starting a noon.
