Week #12 Players of the Week Announced
The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #12 State Players of the Week. Southwester College's Skania Lemus earned the honors along with Cosumnes River College's Amanda Horbasch.
Player of the Week – Skania Lemus – Southwestern College
Southwestern College sophomore second baseman Skania Lemus helped the Jaguars to a pair of Pacific Coast Conference victories on the week over San Diego City College and Mt. San Jacinto College. Lemus went a combined 7 for 10 at the plate with four RBI's and four runs scored. Lemus hit a double and drew one walk. In their lone loss of the week to San Diego Mesa College, Lemus scored the teams only run. Lemus prepped at Mater Dei Catholic High School in Chula Vista, CA.
Player of the Week – Amanda Horbasch – Cosumnes River College
Cosumnes River College sophomore pitcher Amanda Horbasch earns her second 3CFCA Player of the Week award after leading her team to the program's first ever Big 8 Conference Championship. Horbasch went 4-0 in the circle last week, leading the Hawks past Sierra College and Diablo Valley College who both finished just behind CRC in the Big 8 Standings. Hobasch recorded 23 strikeouts over the course of 27 innings, while also going 6 for 12 at the plate with seven runs and a pair of RBI's. The sophomore right hander prepped at Woodcreek High School and hails from Roseville, CA.
