Week #6 Players and Pitchers of the Week Announced
The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #6 State Player and Pitcher of the Week. Mt. San Jacinto College's Nicole Stressling is the State Player of the Week, while Sierra College's Jordan Becker is the State Pitcher of the Week.
Pitcher of the Week – Jordan Becker – Sierra College
Sierra College sophomore pitcher Jordan Becker is the 3CFCA Week #6 State Pitcher of the Week. Becker earned the honors after appearing in four games for the Wolverines during the week and going 3-0. Becker opened the week with an inning of work against Shasta College in a 3-1 Sierra win. Becker struck out the side and earned a save in the process. After that she made two starts pitching a pair of complete games in wins over San Jose City College and San Joaquin Delta College. She combined to fan 12 batters and give up just three earned runs in those two victories. She closed things out in the second game of their double-header with the State Ranked #12 Mustangs. She earned the win, pitching the final three innings giving up one earned run and striking out three more batters. On the week, Becker fanned a total of 18 hitters, averaging a strikeout per inning. Becker prepped at Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA.
Player of the Week – Nicole Stressling – Mt. San Jacinto College
Mt. San Jacinto College freshman centerfielder Nicole Stressling is the Week #6 3CFCA State Player of the Week. Stressling earned the honors after her performance in a pair of wins last week. In the two games, Stressling went a perfect 9 for 9 at the plate, hitting a double, a triple, and driving in a run. Stressling scored seven runs on the day, and swiped a pair of bags. Stressling prepped at Paloma Valley High School in Menifee, CA.
