Wright leads Butte to sweep of De Anza

Paradise High grad and Butte College pitcher Kaitlyn Wright couldn't be stopped in a doubleheader sweep over De Anza of Cupertino, 19-0 and 17-1 at home Saturday. The sophomore started both games and threw 18 strikeouts combined and only gave up four hits on the day.
Kiley Mansfield also had a day with the bat, going 4 for 4 with four doubles and two RBI in the second game of the twin bill. The Roadrunners (15-5) — winners of 15 of 18 since starting the year 0-2 — open conference play Friday with a doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m. against College of the Siskiyous at home.
