SBVC opened up the scoring in the 6th minute when freshman midfielder Alex Cortez (Upland H.S.) connected with sophomore midfielder Jason Goicochea (Moreno Valley Valley View) to give SBVC a 1-0 lead. The lead would hold through halftime as both teams went into the break with SBVC up 1-0.
Then in the 46th minute freshman midfielder Andre Curruitero (Perris Citrus Hill) lobbed a pass into sophomore forward Jason Canahai (Riverside Arlington) to give SBVC a little breathing room at 2-0. Minutes later, in the 52nd minute, Goicochea took a corner kick and placed it perfectly to freshman defender Leonardo Souza (Colégio São Luís, Brazil) who headed the shot in to give SBVC a 3-0 lead.
Goicochea wasn't done, as he scored in the 88th minute on a cross from sophomore defender Gildardo Serna (Lake Elsinore Lakeside) to give SBVC an insurmountable 4-0 lead. SBVC would wrap up this game with a goal in injury time when sophomore defender Brian Aguilar (Moreno Valley Valley View) passed to freshman midfielder Adam Franco (Rialto W.A.
