State No. 14 ranked Skyline College’s women’s basketball playoff season came to an end Saturday with a 61-49 loss at state top-ranked San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.

State No. 14 ranked Skyline College's women's basketball playoff season came to an end Saturday with a 61-49 loss at state top-ranked San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.
The No. 8 NorCal seeded Lady Trojans (22-6) fell behind, 19-8, after one quarter but rallied with a 16-6 second period advantage and were down by only a point, 25-24 at halftime. The host Mustangs took control with an 18-10 third quarter advantage for a 43-24 lead and managed to keep control in the final period, led by Donja Payne with game-high marks of 18 points and 21 rebounds.
Delta (28-2), the state's winningest team, moves onto the state quarterfinals Thursday against Palomar College (26-2), the No. 4 SoCal seed, at West Hills College Lemoore at 5 p.m.
