Falcon men make it a sweep of Feather River

With a roster loaded with international players, the Feather River men's soccer team looked to be a formidible challenge for Folsom Lake's squad of locals.  But on the pitch, the Falcons proved to be faster and better ball handlers as they steadily wore down the visiting Golden Eagles on Friday night with a convincing 5-1 victory at Falcon Stadium.  The setting sun and cooling breeze provided an idyllic setting as the Falcons netted four first-half goals.  Freshman forward Manu Rey got the Falcons on the board early with a goal just five minutes into the match, then added another - his fourth of the young season - twenty minutes later for the 2-0 lead.  Sophomore forward Kameron Kascht got into the act five minutes later with a goal after a brilliant dribbling display through several defenders, making it 3-0.  Sophomore midfielder Jesus Duran added a late first-half goal that completely deflated the Golden Eagles and put the Falcons ahead with a commanding 4-0 lead.  Freshman Nic Fernandez tallied his first collegiate goal in the 60th minute for the Falcons' final score.

The Falcons (2-0) will travel to Napa Valley on Tuesday afternoon for a 4:00 pm makeup of their Covid-postponed match from August 27.
