Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman Shane Martin's bat lifted the Solano baseball team to a 17-9 win over Diablo Valley to open the series on Thursday.

Martin went 4-for-5, including a pair of doubles, with three runs and six RBI. Three other Falcons recorded two-hit games.

Freshman Jalen Morris (1-0) earned the win on the bump, coming in relief in the third inning, and throwing 4.1 innings.

Solano (6-9) continues the series against the Vikings on Friday, May 21 in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
