Lady Cougars 65-61 Winners at West L.A.
Canyons (9-10, 4-2) has won back-to-back games and currently sits third in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division.

CULVER CITY, Calif. — College of the Canyons picked up a 65-61 conference victory over host West L.A. College on Saturday afternoon.
Canyons (9-10, 4-2) has won back-to-back games for the third time this season and currently sits third in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division. The Lady Cougars have followed a trend of two wins followed by two losses over its last 10 games.
On Wednesday, COC defeated Citrus College by a 72-47 margin in the Cougar Cage before hitting the road for Saturday's win vs. the Wildcats (7-13, 1-5).
Canyons sophomore forward Cristian Patron led the squad with 23 points on a 9-of-12 shooting night. Patron added four rebounds, two assists and three steals to help the Lady Cougars to victory.
Sophomore McKenzie Stoehr was 6-of-11 on the day to finish with 17 points. She also hit a pair of second-half three pointers to go with three assists and three steals. Freshman Diamyn Davis netted 10 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
COC trailed by a 35-29 margin heading into the second half but outscored the Wildcats across the final two quarters of play. Canyons saved its best for last, however, with a 20-point output in the fourth quarter that made all the difference in the team's four-point victory.
Stoehr's nine points and two steals across the final 10 minutes of action provided COC with the boost it needed to secure the victory. West L.A. also committed eight turnovers in the fourth quarter
The Wildcats received a game-high 27 points and 14 rebounds from guard Tricia Delph, but as a team shot just under 40 percent for the game. Justice Walters added 12 points off the bench but it wasn't enough. No other West L.A. player reached double digit scoring totals.
COC will host next Bakersfield College at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29. The Lady Cougars then remain home to take on Antelope Valley College on Saturday for a 5 p.m. tip-off.
