Folsom Lake Powers Past Cosumnes River in Strong Offensive Display

Folsom Lake delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday, riding a steady offensive attack and strong pitching to an 8-4 victory over Cosumnes River. The Falcons struck early and maintained their momentum throughout the game, securing a well-earned road win.

Folsom wasted no time getting on the board, with Asa Martinez knocking in a run in the first inning. Cosumnes River responded quickly, taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the frame, but the Falcons weren't rattled. They answered in the second when Trajan Rogowski delivered a key two-run single, capitalizing on an outfield error to put Folsom Lake ahead 3-2.

The offensive surge continued into the third inning, as Julian Clevelle came through with a clutch two-run single to extend the Falcons' lead to 5-2. Though Cosumnes River's Brayden Murua launched a solo home run in the fourth and Chase Christenson added an RBI double, Folsom Lake's pitching staff took control from there, shutting down the Hawks for the remainder of the game.

Andrew Balentine turned in a stellar outing on the mound, allowing just two runs across 5.1 innings while striking out seven. Ryder Slatten and Noah Madsen combined for the final three shutout frames, preventing any late-inning heroics from Cosumnes River.

Folsom Lake put the game out of reach in the seventh, with Dylan Green driving in a run on a double and Clevelle adding another RBI single. A sacrifice fly from Martinez in the eighth padded the lead to 8-4, ensuring a comfortable finish.

The Falcons' offense was firing on all cylinders, collecting 12 hits and making the most of their opportunities. Micah Kendrick, Michael Ryan, and Clevelle each played key roles, with aggressive baserunning and timely hitting fueling the team's success.

With this victory, Folsom Lake continues to show their ability to compete at a high level. Their balanced attack and pitching depth make them a team to watch as the season progresses.
