Falcons Unable to Hold on to Early Edge, Fall 6-4 to Marin

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano baseball team took an early edge but fell 6-4 to Marin on Thursday afternoon in the first game of the three-game series against the Mariners.

Freshman catcher Shane Martin recorded the lone extra-hit effort for the Falcons, counting a double and also tallying a RBI. Freshman right fielder Brandon Herter also earned a two-RBI double, giving the Falcons the early 4-0 lead in the second.

On the mound, freshman righty Justin Bostain (0-1) was charged with the loss, hurling 2.1 innings, and allowing a pair of runs with three strikeouts.

Solano (2-4) continues to host the series against Marin on Friday, Apr. 23 in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. The two games will be played to seven innings.
