Two wins don't make up for the frustration of the 2022 GCC Women's Softball Season but they sure go a long way to show that the Lady Vaqueros are still playing to win every time they step on the field. This was evident at the Ventura College Tournament March 25-26 where Glendale split four games, beating Oxnard 2-1 and falling to Ventura 7-4 Friday and beating Moorpark 11-10 and falling to Cuesta 17-4 Saturday.
In the 2-1 over Oxnard, GCC made single runs in the first and fifth innings behind starting pitcher Torii Forsberg in her three innings to get the win and also two hits with Sierra Ruvalcaba, who struck out seven in her four innings of work got the save. Samantha Sanchez and Skylar Sabetta also had two hits and Sabatta also tripled. Jimena Ibarra drove in the first run for Glendale in the first scoring Forsberg and Kaitllyn Haro scored in the fifth inning when Zuhaley Villaverde reached base on an error.

Glendale scored eight runs in the fifth inning against Moorpark erasing an early deficit ,7-3, and hang in for their second one run victory of the tournament. Once again Sierra Ruvalcaba pitched the majority of the innings to get the win Saturday. Cambria Rems had three hits, Torii Forsberg had a double, homer and three RBI. Elissa Romero, Skylar Sabetta and Jimena Ibarra all had two hits each.
Now 7-21 overall, GCC return to conference play Tuesday March 29 at 2:30 pm at L.A. Valley College.
