Softball Splits Double Header Against Redwoods and San Mateo

Softball split the double-header against Redwoods and San Mateo on Saturday. In the first game of the day, the Beavers continued their offensive hot start with their 3rd game with at least 14 runs in the first 5 games of the year by beating Redwoods 14-4. Kameryn McLinn scored 4 runs to lead the team, followed by Grace Rosebrook, Ashley Cortez, Taylor McKay, Katie Howard, and Brittany Fryer with 2 runs each. Ashley Cortez gave up 4 runs in 5 innings of pitching to Redwoods, but by then, the Beavers had already scored enough runs to secure the victory!

The 2nd game of the day was the opposite of the 1st game. The Beavers had a hard time getting any offense going and lost 0-5 against San Mateo. They ended up with 3 hits in 24 at bats.

Next up for the Beavers (4-2) is another doble-header Tuesday 2/15, against Merced (0-6).
