Softball Splits the 3-Way

The Bakersfield College softball team hosted a three-way with Palomar College and Folsom Lake, taking one out of two games.

In the first game, the Renegades fell behind early and couldn't return in a 4-0 loss to the currently ranked #1 team in the State, Palomar College.

Palomar College took the lead with two runs in the second inning and two more in the 3rd. Pitcher Ryleigh Harrison struck out three and walked one while teammates Kadyn Smith and Anika Romo ended the game with a hit each.

In the day's final game, the Gades went up 3-0 after five innings, scoring runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Bakersfield got three insurance runs in the 6th inning from Camille ChavezDestiny Cuellar, and Roxane Garza. Folsom Lake threatened in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs and getting two runners in scoring position before Harrison was brought in to finish the game.  Kadyn Smith gave up five hits while striking out five to get the win for BC.

BC moves to 10-6 on the season. The Renegades will take a short trip to Glendale on Tuesday and return back home for a 2:30 PM match-up against Antelope Valley on Thursday.
