If a team is going to schedule an away game in Santa Maria against Allan Hancock College, a victory on the road would make the three-to-four-hour return trip a lot more pleasant.

Based on their 3-2 victory Friday Sept. 16., the Glendale College Men's Soccer Team had a enjoyable ride home Friday as the Vaqs overcame an early deficit to beat Hancock to improve to 4-2-1 this season.

With Hancock leading 1-0 in the first half, Jairo Hernandez scored an unassisted goal at the 22:29 mark of the first half and subsequent unassisted goal by David Ganjian at the 35:57 mark of the first half made it 2-1 before Hancock scored a second goal to make it 2-2.

But a second half goal by John Crispi, his fourth of the season, at the 55:52 mark of the second stanza made it 3-2 and left it to the defense to make it stand up as they fended off 27 Hancock shots for the game with goalie Mario Trujillo saving eight shots on goal.

Glendale continues non-conference play Tuesday Sept. 20 at 4pm at El Camino College and plays next at home Friday Sept. 23 at 5 pm against East Los Angeles College at Sartoris Field.
