Antelope Valley edges out L.A. Mission by a score of 8-7

In a closely contested baseball game, Antelope Valley edged out L.A. Mission by a score of 8-7.

Antelope Valley got off to a hot start with Keon Moseni driving in two runs in the first inning. L.A. Mission responded with two runs of their own in the second inning, with Tyler Marty and Mauricio Guardado crossing home plate.

Antelope Valley reclaimed the lead in the third inning with Trey Thomas hitting a solo home run, and then extended their lead in the fourth inning with Joe Uribe driving in two runs with a sacrifice fly and a double.

L.A. Mission fought back with a run in the fifth inning and then tied the game in the seventh inning with Jake Callahan driving in two runs. However, Antelope Valley responded with a four-run eighth inning, led by Thomas who hit a two-run double and Zach Terry who drove in a run with a single.

L.A. Mission rallied in the ninth inning, scoring two runs, but Antelope Valley was able to hold on for the win.

Aidan Jbara had a standout performance for Antelope Valley, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Thomas also had a great game with three hits, including a home run and a double, and three RBIs.

On the pitching side, Ben Hewitt went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out five for Antelope Valley. For L.A. Mission, Jakub Amado pitched 7.1 innings, giving up four runs on ten hits while striking out five.
