Falcons Fly Past Mendocino

Falcons Fly Past Mendocino

Fairfield, Calif. - Reigning CCCWVCA NorCal Player of the Week freshman Sammy Brown tallied 19 kills to lead the Falcons to a sweep of Mendocino (25-8, 25-15, 25-18) on Monday evening.

Brown added eight digs to her efforts. Sophomore Mylei Moli earned seven kills with two blocks, while freshman Bryanna Lott counted six kills. Freshman Dani Rydjord was perfect at the service line with four aces on 20 attempts, while sophomore Kailyn Kaiser also earned four aces with eight digs. Freshman Jeryn Baldonado led the offense with 25 assists and two aces.

"We are on our second week of three matches, but at least we are getting all of our matches completed for the season," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "The first set was very solid, but we lost a little momentum in the following two sets but did enough to get the job done. With the makeup match, we will face Mendocino once again on Friday. Right now we are focused on finishing undefeated in conference. We have solid offense and defense, so we can definitely pull this off."

Solano (19-11, 12-0) remains home to host Los Medanos for Sophomore Night on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. Fans are welcome, but face coverings are required.
