The West Valley volleyball team used Friday night's 25-6, 25-14, 25-14 sweep of visiting San Jose City College to get its bench some valuable experience as the Vikings head into the second half of the Coast Conference schedule.

While the usual cast of characters were at their usual place atop the stat sheet, a number of key backup players had big nights in front of the large, costumed, pre-Halloween crowd. Taylor Tullo, as she does with regularity, had a match-high 10 kills, followed by Katie Kishton's eight and Alina Valenti's six. But Camdyn Albrecht and Elia Duenas also had big hitting nights, finishing with five kills each. Kishton came up with match highs in digs with 20 and service aces with seven and, in the opening set, reeled off 14 straight service points. Kate Blackwell followed Kishton with ten digs, while Sydney Rogers and Hailey Keith had 18 assists apiece.

The Vikings (15-3, 8-0 Coast-South) begin the second half of the Coast schedule Wednesday (11/3) with a home match against Monterey Peninsula (10-8, 4-3). First serve is 6:30pm.
