AVC Softball won their seventh straight game with two wins over Citrus on Tuesday.

AVC Softball won their seventh straight game with two wins over Citrus on Tuesday. Game one was a rescheduled contest from earlier this season that was rain delayed. Resuming the action with a 5-1 lead in the 4th inning, the Marauders added another run and finished with 6 runs off of 2 hits with 2 errors. They surrendered 2 runs in the 6th inning but held on for the 6-3 win.
Savannah Cervantes finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, Kylie Zinn went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Natasha Arroyo batted in 2 runs with one hit. Emily Centeno and Natalie Gomez each recorded an RBI as Annalise Wagner went the distance, striking out three in the circle.
Game two would be a closer battle, with the Owls jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning. The Marauders responded in the 4th inning with a solo home run from Savannah Cervantes. Cervantes has 8 home runs and 30 RBI on the season.
Citrus took a 2-1 lead with an unearned run off a wild pitch in the 5th. Antelope Valley answered in the bottom of the 6th. Cadence Crampton hit a 2RBI single to score Cervantes and pinch-runner Haylei Weiske. Up 3-2, Emmeliz Sera forced three flyouts to end the game. Starter Victoria Alcantar had 5 strikeouts in just over 5 innings of work. AVC will close out the regular season on the road against LA Valley, Rio Hondo, Santiago Canyon, and College of the Canyons.
