In a game that saw both teams combine for 25 runs, Sacramento City came from behind to defeat Folsom Lake 13-12 in an exciting back-and-forth affair on February 28, 2025. The game featured explosive offense from both sides, with multiple lead changes and a dramatic finish.

Early Lead for Folsom Lake

Folsom Lake came out firing in the first inning. After a passed ball allowed Quincy Malbrough to score, Logan Pruski's RBI single extended the lead to 2-0. A sac fly from Micah Kendrick brought in a third run, giving the Falcons a 3-0 lead. Sacramento City responded in the bottom of the first with a solo homer from Dylan Drake, trimming the lead to 3-1.

Folsom Lake Dominates the Third

The Falcons' offense exploded in the third inning, as Connor Barth hit a grand slam to push the lead to 7-1. The blast brought in Pruski, Dylan Green, and Asa Martinez, who had all reached base earlier in the inning. Folsom Lake's offensive onslaught continued as they took a commanding 10-2 lead by the end of the fifth inning, with a two-RBI double from Malbrough and a balk scoring another run.

Sacramento City's Fightback

Not to be outdone, Sacramento City mounted a comeback in the bottom of the fifth. After Levi Sotomayor's RBI single cut the deficit to 10-3, the Panthers' rally began in earnest in the seventh. A walk to Tyson Mayberry and a hit-by-pitch to Eddie Fines cut the lead to 10-5, and further walks to Jackson Norton and Jaxen Mentink helped bring the score closer, 10-7. Lucas Drake's RBI single pulled the Panthers to within two, 10-8.

A Thrilling Final Two Innings

Folsom Lake pushed their lead back to 12-8 in the eighth, as Michael Ryan's error by Sacramento City's second baseman allowed Trajan Rogowski to score, and a sac fly from Green brought in Ryan. But Sacramento City wasn't finished yet. The Panthers scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth, starting with an RBI single from Blakley, followed by a clutch single from Sotomayor that scored two more runs, tying the game at 12-12. A passed ball and a balk allowed the final run to score, giving Sacramento City the 13-12 victory.
