The Marauders outscored the Tigers in three of the four quarters, with Athieng Bol leading the way. Bol scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, along with 2 blocks and a steal. She currently leads the Western State Conference South in points per game (19) among players who have played at least 10 games.
Niela Marshall recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds. She also added 2 assists and a block. AVC outrebounded Riverside 47-32, with Shaniya Sinclair grabbing a game-high 20 boards to go along with 6 points. Sinclair is averaging a WSC conference-leading 11.4 rebounds a game.
Zaniyah Wyatt chipped in 8 points and 2 assists, while Deja Taylor had a team-high 3 assists and 2 points. The Marauders shot 32.1% (18-56) and held the Tigers to 27.8% (20-72) shooting while a sharp 81.8% from the free-throw line.
AVC is now 7-4 and will next battle Victor Valley at home on December 30th. Tip-off is at 3:00 p.m.
