
Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Baseball Team extended their winning streak to five games, emerging victorious with a 6-1 win over El Camino on Tuesday, February 18. With this victory, the Mounties lead the South Coast Conference with a 9-3 record, while the Warriors fall to 8-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Mt. SAC struck first in the bottom of the first inning when Tyler Stull reached on a fielder's choice, bringing home Bryan Bradshaw for a 1-0 lead. El Camino responded in the top of the second with an RBI single from Jack Nammack, scoring Caden Lewis to even the game at 1-1.
The Mounties regained the lead in the fourth when Cole Nachreiner's groundout brought Diego Ortiz across home plate, making it 2-1. They sealed the victory with a dominant eighth inning, adding four insurance runs. Nick Mejia delivered a clutch triple to drive in Miguel Perez and Ortiz, followed by a Landon White double that plated Bradshaw and Mejia, securing the 6-1 win.

"Izeah Muniz was outstanding for us from the first pitch through the 8th inning," Head Coach John Knott said. "This is a guy who came to us from Cal State Fullerton and battled through injury, but he has totally persevered to get to this point. I'm really proud of him - he did an outstanding job."
