Kenji Colston drilled a walk-off homer to left in the bottom of the 9th to derail Hartnell's comeback attempt and secure a 12-11 win Saturday at Valhalla. The victory was West Valley's 10th straight and kept the Vikings a game up on Ohlone in the Coast-South Conference.

West Valley (20-6, 6-0 Coast-South) was cruising along with an 11-7 lead through seven, but Hartnell (10-16, 1-5) tied it up with two runs in both the 8th and 9th. With one out in the WVC 9th, Colston took the first pitch he saw from Moises Reyes to deep left for the win, WVC's 3rd over the Panthers this week.

Colin Spear's three-run homer highlighted a six-hit, seven-run 4th, while Kai Laxa finished 4-for-5 with an RBI. Eric Altmark, Isaac Hawthrone and Jordan Montez all had two-hit outings. Ahmed Brown earned the win on the mound to move to 2-0.

The Vikings host Gavilan (5-18, 3-3) Tuesday (3/25) in the first of a three-game set. First pitch is 2:00pm.
