(Walnut, CA) After a 5-0 start in the South Coast Conference this season, the Mt. SAC Women's Water Polo team suffered its second consecutive loss, a 13-4 setback to visiting Long Beach City College Wednesday (October 27).
Overall, the Mounties are 10-15 and 5-2 in the conference. The Mounties remain in third place in the SCC, behind LBCC and Cerritos.
Leading the way for the Mounties was freshman 2-meter Elizabeth Chong and sophomore attacker Julia Bensing-Ruiz with two goals each.
Trailing 6-2 at the half, the Vikings opened the floodgates with six goals in the third period and Mt. SAC scored only a single goal.
The Mounties now await the SCC Championships, hosted by Mt. SAC on November 4.
