Cubs extend win streak to 4

On a rainy humid Friday night, the Men's LACC soccer team traveled to Glendale College for their first away game. The game promised to be an exciting match up as both teams had 3 wins in their first 4 matches of the season. LACC went on to the attack right away and what seemed to be an early goal by sophomore Andrew Luna, was called back on an offside. LACC would have the clearer chances and they would strike first in the  23' minute with a beautiful shot by freshman Fernando Avina after a great assist by sophomore Jonathan Garcia, and notching Fernando's 4th goal of the season. The half would stay very competitive, but the score would stay the same as LACC would take the lead into the half.

The second half was another exciting one and both teams would have their opportunities to score. It would be LACC who would get back on the board on a corner kick assist by freshman Eduardo Campos to sophomore Jonathan Garcia who would give LACC the 2-0 decisive lead. Soon thereafter Glendale would mount an attack that saw freshman goalkeeper Edward Fletes make an incredible save and sophomore Ivan Gutierrez clear a dangerous rebound to keep LACC's shut out alive. The match would stay intense in a thrilling fashion, and LACC would come out with their 4th victory in a row and longest winning streak under Coach Javier Aguiniga Campos tenure. The Cubs host San Diego City next on Tuesday September 13th @ 7pm.
