VICTORVILLE - The Marauder softball won two games on Tuesday with an easy 9-1 victory, followed by an 18-5 victory over Victor Valley College.
In the first game, Krystan Cook pitched five solid innings of one-hit ball and gave up only one unearned run.
"I think it was my best outing of the season. I had my team behind me and I got in my zone. It was a really good game for us," Cook said. "Our sticks are really hot right now. Our defense is solid and we're on a roll. It's not an individual effort, it's a team effort."
Paige Johnson was 2-for-3 and added two more RBI to her state leading 55. Johnson is on pace to break the school record for most RBI in a season (64) held by Adriana Perez in 2011, who now plays for Mexico's national team.
Samantha Arriola was 3-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored. Tawnee Hegree had three hits and three runs scored and Sally Miramontes added two RBI.
