LANCASTER - It was in inauspicious start to the season the Marauder women's soccer team as it lost 5-0 to L.A. Pierce College, Saturday night at Marauder Stadium.
The Brahmas (1-0) benefitted from two goals in the first half and three in the second. Pierce out shot AVC (0-1) 19-5 the entire game.
"We knew coming in that Pierce was a well coached program. In the first half we played very well. It was good to see a team of Pierce's caliber to see what we need to work on," AVC head coach Charles Gordon said. "This was an excellent match to learn from and develop with. It allowed us to see what are strengths and weaknesses are. We have a very good baseline from which to work."
The Brahmas had five differnt players score and had two assists from Ashley Oviedo. Marauders' goalkeeper Grabriela Espinoza had five saves on the night.
AVC will host Grossmont College on Tuesday at 3pm.
