Sacramento City Dominates Lassen, 13-3, in Five Innings

Sacramento City continued their perfect start to the 2025 season with a dominant 13-3 victory over Lassen on January 30, 2025. The game, which was called after five innings due to the mercy rule, saw the home team explode for 11 runs in a huge fourth inning, securing their fourth straight win.

Lassen Takes Early Lead, But Sacramento Responds
Lassen struck first in the top of the first inning. After a lead-off walk and a fielder's choice, Tori Lenz singled to bring in N. Velazquez, giving Lassen a 1-0 lead. Sacramento City quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning. Kayla Garber's RBI single scored Ava Seguin, tying the game at 1-1.

Sacramento City Breaks Open the Game in the Fourth
The turning point came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Sacramento City put together a barrage of hits and took advantage of some wild pitches to score 12 runs. The inning was highlighted by a two-run double from Izzy Fisher, a two-RBI single from Kayla Garber, and a series of singles and wild pitches that kept the runs coming. By the end of the frame, Sacramento City had built a commanding 13-1 lead.

Lassen Adds a Couple in the Fifth, But It's Too Late
Lassen didn't go down without a fight, adding two runs in the top of the fifth. Lenz doubled to bring in Velazquez, and Larranaga, hit by a pitch, later scored on a fielder's choice. However, with the mercy rule in effect, the game ended after five innings with Sacramento City comfortably ahead, 13-3.
