Cougs drop conference opener against Feather River

Leading the way against Cosumnes River was Josie Booth with seven kills, Taysha Ortega added four kills in with .800 hitting percentage, she also added in 18 assists, Hannah McLauchlin dug up 18 digs.

"We started very slow in this game and didn't make a strong push until late in set three at that point it was too late," said Head Coach Amy Morris. "This was our last match to prepare for conference play and I don't think we took advantage of it like we should have."

Against the Golden Eagles, the bright spots for the Cougs were Booth who led the team in kills with seven, Hannah McLauchlin who lead the team in digs with 11 and Taysha Ortega who dished out 13 assists.

"It was tough to start conference at Feather River, they came out very strong and had a good fan base,"said Morris. "We now know what the top of conference will look like and will prepare accordingly."
