SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Nick Putnam delivered a five-inning no-hit performance, striking out five to earn his first win of the season as Santa Barbara City College defeated Moorpark College 9-1 on Thursday at Pershing Park.

Putnam, along with Seth Slaigel and Max McGrady, combined to hold the Raiders to just one hit in a dominant pitching display.

The Vaqueros got off to a hot start and never looked back, scoring four runs in the first three innings. Leadoff hitter Will Matuszak went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs. Aidan Camberg and Logen Seeger also drove in two runs apiece, with Seeger going a perfect 3-for-3 and swiping a stolen base.

In total, Santa Barbara racked up 12 hits, eight RBIs, and six stolen bases, providing plenty of support for the pitching staff.

The Vaqueros (4-6, 1-1 WSC) will look to carry their momentum into Saturday's series finale at Moorpark, with first pitch set for 1 p.m.
