Modesto, Calif. - Freshmen Isabel Olmedo and Shelby Nichols both counted goals, but the Solano women's soccer team came up short at Modesto, 4-2, on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Diana Caro counted the assist on Olmedo's goal in the 35th minute, while Nichols scored her goal on penalty kick.

In the goal, freshman Kirstyn Gottschall had another solid outing, posting 10 saves.

The Falcons (0-2) begin a three-match homestand beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 4, hosting Ohlone at 4 p.m.
