Included in the win was a 19-hit performance, which included two home runs and three doubles.
Leading the way with three hits apiece was sophomore first baseman Toni Mendoza (3 for 3, dbl., 3 runs) and sophomore second baseman Mandy Larios (3-4, 3 runs, RBI).
Sophomore pitcher Tiffany Kennedy-Cummings (5 inn., 2 hits, 2 Ks) picked up her eighth win of the season.
After taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning the Mountie bats exploded for six runs in each of the second and third innings for their biggest two-inning output of the season.
Highlighting the second inning was a two-run homer by sophomore catcher Taylor Jaurique (2-2, 3 runs) and a two-run single by designated player Racqual Espinoza (2-3, 2 RBIs), scoring sophomore center fielder Bree Maikai (2-3, R, RBI) and Larios.
The next inning, six more runs came across, three by way of Chaffey errors, scoring shortstop Kayla Sok (2-3, 3 R, dbl.), Jaurique and sophomore left fielder Sasha Allen.
Toni Mendoza scored the fourth run on a ground out by Maikai and sophomore right fielder Alyssa Rasso (1-2, R, 4 RBIs) clubbed a two-run home run, scoring Larios.
Next up for the Mounties is Long Beach City College this Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm followed by a big double header on Saturday at No. 2 Cypress. Game times are Noon and 2:00 pm.
