No. 8 Riverside Rallies to Score Big in Lopsided Victory

After finding itself trailing 5-1 heading into the bottom of the second, Riverside City College rallied and finished with a 19-6 victory over West LA College Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers – who recently debuted as the No. 8 team in the State – improve to 10-4 overall, while the Wildcats drop to 2-10 on the year.

RCC finished with 16 hits in the win, with Logan Clear leading the charge after finishing 4-for-6 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Bubba Heidler followed 3-for-4 with four runs scored, while Luke Medure (2-for-3), Daniel Rivera (2-for-3), and Eddie Alfaro (2-for-3) also had multiple hits on the day.

West LA took an early 5-1 lead, but RCC turned things around in the bottom of the second with five runs. With bases loaded and no outs, Alfaro cleared the bases with a double to left center before coming home on a wild pitch. Marc DiCarlo, Jr. then sacrificed a fly ball to put the Tigers in front. 6-5.

RCC all but put the game out of reach with another big inning in the third, scoring six runs on three hits. Clear doubled down the left field line to send three runs in before DiCarlo, Jr. followed with an RBI triple. DiCarlo, Jr. then came home on a Medure double to up the Tigers' lead to 12-5.

Riverside went on to score three runs in the fifth and sixth, before capping the scoring with a final run in the seventh to seal the 19-6 victory – its highest-scoring output of the season.

The Tigers continue a busy week, hosting LA Mission College on Thursday at 2 p.m.
