
No. 8 Riverside Takes Care of Business at Home
No. 8-ranked Riverside City College took advantage of opportunities to send runners home in a 13-3 victory over LA Mission College Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 11-4 overall, while the Eagles drop to 4-10 on the year.
Several Tigers had multiple hits in the game, with Bubba Heidler (2-for-5), Logan Clear (2-for-4), and Ian Nguyen (2-for-3) each had two hits. Marc DiCarlo, Jr., Luke Medure and Eddie Alfaro also had hits.
RCC struck first in the bottom of the second as Medure scored on a Parker Sobiesiak sacrifice bunt before Alfaro drove two runners in with a base hit through the left side.
The Tigers put the game away in the seventh, scoring six runs on three hits and two Eagle errors. Nguyen started the scoring spree with an RBI triple before RCC loaded up the bases with two outs.
Alfaro drew ball four to walk in a run and then Heidler doubled to the gap in right center to send two runs in, before another came home on an Eangle error and Heidler touched home on a Clear double.
Eric Stratton picked up his second win of the season with five strikeouts on the mound for the Tigers.
RCC closes its busy week of four games in five days on the road, heading to Citrus College for a 1 p.m. game on Friday.
