Citrus College got the job done with a 4-3 victory over Oxnard College Monday.

The Owls improve to 11-20 on the year, while the Condors drop to 3-22.

Jaidyn Harris had a solid game in the circle, tossing 10 strikeouts – the first Owl to do so since 2015 – to pick up her seventh win of the year.

After three scoreless innings, Citrus finally broke through in the fourth. Alexis Cordero led off with a single through the left side and two Owls joined her on base with one out. A wild pitch scored Cordero, before a sacrifice fly from Layla Prieto allowed Mia Godoy to tag up from third. Natalie Adams kept the two-out rally going with a base hit to shallow center field as Isabella Ramirez rounded third to put Citrus up 3-0.

The Condors responded with two runs in the top of the fifth, capitalizing off two Owl errors.

Citrus got back one of the runs in the bottom half of the inning as Rebekah Rudder showed off her baserunning skills with two stolen bases and tagging up from third on a Patty Rodriguez sacrifice fly.

Oxnard made things interesting with a home run in the sixth, but it was all Harris would allow as the Owls secured the 4-3 victory.

Citrus turns right around to host College of the Canyons on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
