Sacramento City Outlasts Modesto in 12-Inning Thriller, 8-7

In a nail-biting extra-inning contest, Sacramento City edged Modesto 8-7 in 12 innings on March 10, 2025. The back-and-forth affair featured clutch hitting, defensive miscues, and key pitching performances as Sacramento City secured the win.

Early Lead for Modesto

Modesto struck first in the opening inning when Adam Alharbi's RBI single brought home Tyler Dorn for a 1-0 lead.

Sacramento City Answers Back

Sacramento City's offense came alive in the third inning with a four-run rally. Levi Sotomayor's RBI double tied the game, and Eddie Fines delivered a three-run double to give the Panthers a 4-1 advantage. An RBI double from Sotomayor in the fourth pushed the lead to 5-1.

Modesto's Comeback

The Pirates responded in the fourth with a four-run surge of their own. Jr Bedford's RBI single and Ny'Zaiah Thompson's run-scoring double cut the deficit to 5-3. Two additional runs crossed the plate on a wild pitch, tying the game at 5-5.

In the fifth, Dylan Fuller's RBI single gave Modesto a 6-5 lead.

Late-Game Drama

Sacramento City reclaimed the lead in the seventh when Joseph Portwood tripled home Eddie Fines to tie the game at 6-6. Brenden Murphy's RBI single moments later gave the Panthers a 7-6 edge.

Modesto evened the score in the eighth when Jr Bedford crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

Sacramento City Delivers in Extras

After three scoreless extra innings, Sacramento City broke through in the 12th. Dylan Drake laced a clutch RBI double to right field, scoring Jackson Blakley for what proved to be the winning run.
