Citrus College started strong but couldn't hold on in a 60-30 loss to Orange Coast College on the second day of the Okawa Classic.
The Owls slip to 4-9 on the year, while the Pirates – the third-ranked team in the CCCAA – remain undefeated at 15-0.
For the second game in a row, Giselle Garcia-Nunez led the Owls with 12 points in the game, shooting 6-of-9 from the floor. She added 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the year.
Citrus opened with a 13-8 lead after the first quarter, but OCC shut down the Owls in the second quarter to shift momentum into the Pirates' favor the remaining of the game.
The Owls close out the three-day tournament on Friday, taking on host East Los Angeles at 5 p.m.
