The Mt. SAC Men's Soccer Team secured a 1-0 victory over Arizona Western in their home opener on Friday, August 23, as part of the Mt. SAC / Nike / Azteca Soccer Tournament.
The game deciding goal was scored by forward Christopher Chavez with an assist from forward Moises Prado in the 47th minute.
Coach Juan Sanchez praised the team saying, "The boys came out with a lot of energy and determination to go out and try to get a result."
Mt. SAC's defense, including goalkeepers Alex Ledesma and Edson Mendez, played a key role in the match, combining for seven saves to keep Arizona Western scoreless.
This win is a promising start to the season for Mt. SAC, highlighting their defensive strength and attacking effectiveness.
