Antelope Valley College Softball won their Western State Conference home game against the LA Valley Monarchs 15-3. Fueled by 11 hits, including home runs from Marley Delgado, Kaili York, and Marissa Rodriguez, AVC's offense overpowered LA Valley while committing just one error on the day.
Delgado finished 3-for-3 with 3 RBI while Jeannette Camarena, Mia Romero, Hartley Lundquist, and Analise Memory batted in 2 runs each. Natalia Hernandez and Tenley Puett had a hit each, with Hernandez recording an RBI. The Marauders currently occupy 4 of the top 5 spots in the conference for the most runs batted in. Delgado leads with 35 (3rd in the 3C2A), followed by Lundquist at 29 with Camarena and Hernandez at 24. Hernandez still has the highest batting average in the conference at .526. She shares the lead for home runs with Delgado at 7.
Payton Marlin continues to be efficient in the circle, throwing 46 of 62 pitches for strikes and striking out 6 batters in 5 innings.
Tuesday's win kicked off a busy week of play for the Marauders. They traveled to Glendale on Wednesday, winning 8-0, and will play at Bakersfield on Thursday. AVC is now 20-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
