Mt. SAC Baseball Crushes Oxnard College 22-1, Extends Winning Streak to 10

Walnut, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Baseball Team delivered another commanding performance, defeating Oxnard College 22-1 on Saturday, March 1, to sweep their two-game series. With this victory, the Mounties extended their winning streak to ten games, improving to 14-3 on the season, while the Condors fell to 3-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Mt. SAC hit the ground running as Bryan Bradshaw launched a solo home run in the bottom of the first to put the Mounties on the board. They continued their momentum, adding two runs in the bottom of the second off a single from Noah Rodriguez.

The third inning saw an offensive explosion, with the Mounties piling on eight runs. Ty Thomas led off with a solo homer, followed by a three-RBI double from Terrell Jackson Jr. to bring in Miguel Perez, Tyler Stull, and Diego Ortiz. Additional RBIs from Diego Villa, Ortiz, and Thomas capped the inning at 11-0.

The Mounties' bats stayed hot in the fourth, adding three additional runs off a double from Landon White and a Thomas single. Perez then tacked on another run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Oxnard struggled with control in the sixth, loading the bases on walks and allowing a run before Perez drove in Cole Nachreiner and Thomas with an RBI single, pushing the lead to 18-0. Nachreiner added another run in the seventh with an RBI single to center, bringing in AC Nieto.

The Mounties wrapped up their scoring in the bottom of the eighth with three final runs - Villa led off with an RBI single, and Bradshaw, who had started the game with a home run, finished with a two-run blast.

The Condors managed to avoid a shutout in the ninth, as Alakai Hunalon singled to drive in Arty Menchaca for their lone run.

The Mounties kick off a three-game conference series against East Los Angeles College (8-8) on Tuesday, March 4, at home. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
