LANCASTER - The Marauder softball team extended its winning streak to 10 games with a pair of victories over Rio Hondo College and Mt. San Jacinto College.
The Marauders won the first game 10-1 over Rio Hondo and came back to defeat the Eagles, 5-2, in the second game.
Against Rio Hondo the first four hitters, Valerie Dorantes, Tawnee Hegre, Paige Johnson and Dolly Stevens were a combined 10-for-13, including 4-for-4 from Johnson with two runs scored and two RBI and Stevens' eighth home run of the season.
Johnson lead the state with nine hone runs and 49 RBI. Stevens is second in home runs and fifth with 32 RBI.
The Marauders exploded with three runs in the second inning, two in the fourth and five in the fifth.
Despite only collecting two hits in the second game against Mt. San Jacinto, AVC capitalized off five errors committed by the Eagles for the victory.
Morgan Arndt earned her 11th win of the season and struck out nine.
