Citrus College got its bats going but couldn't get runners around in a 3-0 loss to No. 8-ranked Bakersfield College Thursday afternoon.
The Owls drop to 10-9 overall and 4-3 in the Western State Conference-South, while the Renegades improve to 12-7 on the year and 5-1 in conference.
Six Owls had hits in the game, including a double from Jasani Zavalza, but Citrus left nine runners on base.
Citrus held Bakersfield to just three runs with some crucial plays on defense.
The Owls turn right around to host Moorpark College for a doubleheader – originally scheduled for a road contest – beginning at noon.
