Tigers Grab Royal Victory

Riverside City College took on four-year program Hope International University Friday afternoon and grabbed a 4-3 victory.

The Tigers improve to 8-3 overall, while the Royals drop to 3-5 on the year.

Giovanne Recchia and Charalampos Plataniotis grabbed the lone doubles win with a 6-2 victory, with both Tigers going on to win their singles matches. Recchia picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win, while Plataniotis won 6-3, 6-0.

Michael Chang and Ronith Sreeram also won in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots, respectively. Chang beat his opponent 6-1, 7-6 (6), while Sreeram grabbed a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

The Tigers look to keep their four-match winning streak going and resume Orange Empire Conference action on Tuesday as they host Saddleback College at 2 p.m.
