SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Will Matuszak stayed hot in the leadoff spot, driving in four runs as Santa Barbara City College beat Cuesta College 17-1 at Pershing Park on Tuesday.

Matuszak now has seven RBIs in his last three games, going 5-for-12 and stealing four bases during that span.

Joseph Talarico (2-2) delivered an efficient outing on the mound, tossing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts on 88 pitches.

The Vaqueros opened the scoring in the bottom of the third, as Matuszak drove in two with a bases-loaded single up the middle. He later scored when a double steal forced a catcher's error, and Ethan Rodriguez capped off the inning with an RBI fielder's choice, giving SBCC a 4-0 lead.

Santa Barbara broke the game open in the sixth inning, exploding for seven runs, highlighted by Aidan Camberg's three-run triple.

The Vaqueros finished with 17 runs on 16 hits, tallying 15 RBIs and four stolen bases from Matuszak, Benjamin Strutt, Ethan Rodriguez, and Nicolas Aguirre.

Talarico remains undefeated at home, now 2-0 with 11 scoreless innings at Pershing Park this season.

SBCC (6-6, 3-1 WSC) continues its three-game series at Cuesta on Thursday, before returning home Saturday to close out the set.
