The MSJC baseball team played three non-conference games last week, coming away with a pair of wins.

The Eagles started the week with a trip to Compton on Tuesday where they broke open a pitcher's duel in the top of the ninth inning to win 8-4. Compton led 2-1 after seven but MSJC rallied for two in the eighth and then scored five in the ninth. It was a monster game for Juni Rodriguez who hit a program record tying three home runs in the game. He started with a solo shot in the fourth, followed by a two-run blast in the eighth and a three-run homer in the ninth. The Eagles used six pitchers in the game with Marcos Cisneros earning the victory as he threw a perfect eighth inning inducing three ground outs.

Saturday the Eagles traveled to LA Pierce for a doubleheader after a home game was rained out Thursday. In the first game of the day the MSJC offense struggled as they fell 9-1 to the Brahmas. Matt Rezkalah drove home the Eagles' only run of the game.

In game two MSJC's bats came back to life as they built a lead of 11-2 after four and a half innings on their way to a 15-8 win. Rodriguez hit another homerun and added a triple as he finished the game with three more RBIs. Louie Arias was all over the box score as he went four for six at the plate, driving home four runs and stealing three bases. Ty Mattson and Rezkalah added two RBIs each and Justin Granado had three hits.

The Eagles are now 7-12 overall and get back into conference action this week when they play Cerro Coso in a three-game series. Tuesday MSJC travels to Ridgecrest for a 2 pm game and then will host the Coyotes Friday and Saturday. Friday's home game is set for 2 pm and Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for noon.
