Cypress Chargers Men’s Water Polo Goes 1-3 At Mt. SAC Tournament
Chargers open with a commanding win over Sierra College but fall short in close battles against El Camino, Golden West, and Mt. San Antonio at the Mt. SAC Tournament.
CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress Chargers men's water polo team faced tough competition at the Mt. SAC Tournament, finishing with a 1-3 record. The Chargers started strong with a dominant 12-4 win over Sierra College but struggled to maintain that momentum in their remaining matches.
In their second game, Cypress went up against El Camino in a tightly contested match that extended into double overtime. Despite a valiant effort, the Chargers fell short, losing 19-18. Kai Banua led the Chargers with 4 goals and 1 assist, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.
The Chargers then faced a formidable Golden West team, which proved too strong. Cypress fell 17-7 to the undefeated Golden West squad.
In their final game, the Chargers battled hard against Mt. San Antonio but came up short, losing 13-11.
Wes Brazada was the top scorer in the Chargers' lone victory, helping to lead the team to their 12-4 win against Sierra College.
Despite the challenges, Cypress showed determination throughout the tournament and will look to bounce back in their next set of games.
