The Citrus College softball team suffered their first conference loss of the season, falling 7-0 to Antelope Valley College yesterday.

Citrus College goes to 13-13 overall on the season and 5-1 in conference games, while Antelope Valley College goes to 21-5 overall and 4-1 in conference.

The Marauders took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning before breaking the game open with a five-run surge in the third, making it 6-0. Antelope Valley added one more run in the sixth to secure the 7-0 victory.

The Owls managed three hits but could not convert on opportunities, leaving four runners stranded on base. Sofia Femath, Jaelynn Eaves, and Rylee Praytor each recorded a hit, while Ava Camarena added to her conference-leading total with her 26th stolen base — the only steal of the game.

Citrus College will look to bounce back tomorrow, Thursday, March 27th, when they host No. 9-ranked Long Beach City College at 2:30 p.m.
